CL Redux

Quote from Picaso:

Nice trade, K.

It's funny how when euro was going through the rough and shorts were being hammered in the ES oil made it to 82 and stopped on its tracks and then yet again when it made it back to 81 bounced up (proportionally way more than equities).

Distribution? Accumulation? Undecided position traders? Symmetrical automated systems fighting for fills?

I know, ignore everything and just watch the damn chart :D
To me it looked like the last long getting out.

Flat on the cl now. Bought last one at 8034. If anyone is trying to go long watch 7980. Im going to lunch and im wondering how many stops are at 7980-8000. Plus having flashbacks to last time we had a day like this, burned 20k

Picaso, let's you and me go to a 12-step program for "overthinking" traders.

I think I made a record for # of ticks gained on the day :)

Nice work, K!

Let me THINK about it for a while :D

Congrats on your new record. Looking at the chart in hindsight seems like an easy day to trade and make a killing but considering how the day went I'm sure many people puked their positions in the worst places. Considering how different yesterday and today have been and that you seem to have done well both days (<i>I</i> take your word for it, don't need no stinking blotter), you should be really proud of yourself. :)

I haven't traded live today - couldn't sleep last night and historically in high-stakes-everybody-waiting-for-the-news-or-report days I either make (just) some money or get crushed. Nicely closer to my sim-Ferrari, though :p

Hope Herr Kid and Bon CST-FX have done well also - or at least are working on their tans :D

Awesome, I wouldn't use anymore sell stops though.

:)

Pulling a double (sim) Nodoji's: short 80.75 - exit .57 + short .55 - still open :D

But yes, another run is unlikely - maybe very near the close.

Edit: Oh, I said it before, but again, congrats K, you surely have some of Livermore's knack for knowing when to sit on your hands

Well, I save my blotters every day so I can analyze things later, but I don't want to post them too often and give everyone a chance to reverse engineer my "edge" - lol!

BTW, I finally stepped away from lunch after "just one more trade" and of course you see what happened...

I then suffered from too low to short disease.

ADD: I knew yesterday would be tricky since the BIG news was not till today, so I traded very differently, snaring little 20-tick moves.
