stopped out. oil is getting ridiculously hard to trade

Man, you can say that again. I thought the inventory number came out yesterday. So what's up with those whipsaws?

Thanks guys n gals ( nodoji who I admire ) for running this thread.
I will be starting to trade soon in next 2 months.

Can someone please tell me where do I get News / Events time schedule for CL. I look at yahoo economic calendar but is there a better more accurate calendar and also if a news breaks out during the days where should I get it from.

I have IB and Tradestation.

Thanks,

You have the wrong name, you know. You gotta have lots of emotion. I talk loudly to my trades!

Crude inventories are reported every Wednesday @ 10:30 Eastern Time. You can successfully trade through the news using a special tactic wherein you close your eyes and click buy/sell randomly on your trading platform.

IB provides realtime news feeds from Reuters. You can filter the news by subject of interest (eg. commodity --> Crude oil). However, you must subscribe first.

Be that as it may, I find news to be distracting. It's hard enough to follow the damn price on the chart. Who has the time to read? Plus, the fundamentals and the technicals don't always correlate as they should. But it's worth noting that while news can lie, charts will not.

Anyone know if the spike on the crude chart was news-based or just a standard CL breakout through R?

As far as I know the only keeping the Oil in this levels right now is the storm developing in the Caribbean.

Hope it helps.
