CL Redux

Quote from Speciaul_K:

I drew it the same way in TS and it was pierced 2day
I'm gonna keep my mouth shut until tomorrow. I believe we're going down tomorrow despite the fact that it's a T-day. But, either way, I have my stop in place so let's see how loud this fat pig can sing come tomorrow. :)

Quote from Speciaul_K:

I believe they expired at 2.30eastern time
Yea, I'm an idiot. I saw it on my screen and assumed they could still be traded electronically until end of day. Obviously, they can't.

Quote from riskaddict:

What is your philosophy as far as pierced trend lines? Does it have to be with a certain degree of conviction or sustained strength? I usually don't take anything seriously unless it's a certain number of standard deviations on whatever time frame i'm looking at. This is one aspect of trading that ercks me and probably why I can only make money trading a large time frame.
To me, once they are pierced they are no longer valid resistance

Holy crap, close to 100 pages since I posted last.

Hows the action been? Ive been driving for the past 3 days, been home like 27 hours and find out I might have to leave again on Friday

Quote from ChkitOut:

you can get futures charts through ameritrade??
Yes and no. Through Thinkorswim platform, which is now offered to Ameritrade clients, you can access futures chart. However, you cannot trade futures via Thinkorswim since Ameritrade doesn't clear futures.

On the other hand, you can trade futures directly from Quotetracker, which is free to Ameritrade clients, by linking it to Interactive Brokers (or any one of the futures brokers that QT supports) through its API.

So, in many ways, you get a double bang for your buck if you have accounts at both IB and Ameritrade. Now I start to sound like that one dude from Ameritrade commercial. :D

it seems to me you are fighting the market. the time gap between two shorts are too short.
my suggestion is when first trade does not work, reverse it or wait at least 20minutes or half hrs to enter the same directional trade.

I was buying QM at 82.25 now for APRIL with 0.2 stop(mental, not hard stop). hope it will rebound to 82.5+. QM is harder to trade than CL (low volume, must pin down the exit/entry from the quote). I will trade CL from 9:00am.

next buy will be 81.8 to me, target is 82.3.

Quote from schizo:

Stopped out

Reentered short 82.78

Stop 83.08

Quote from schizo:

Short again 82.91
You forgot this one which quickly followed after the second trade was also stopped out, incidentally at the HOD. :)

Anyway, you're right. I really need to chill out.

did not make any thing on the 82.25 entry, then slept again.

I put a limit buy at 81.8 with 0.2 hard stop loss. just woke up this moment, man, off 0.09 cents.

I am thinking about trailing stop buy, but the bumpy movement makes me uneasy about trailing stop buy (it is not suitable).

Cool, I just downloaded the TOS platform and can now access the futures charts but if I want to use charts instead Quote tracker doesn't seem to be picking up the symbols.

I tried /ES on QT but nothing..
