CL Redux

Quote from Illum:

I haven't been day trading trading oil for years, I'm new to intraday, but from what I have seen if they want to reverse it, they will sell into good news. They woulda been selling into 82 at 1030 and it would have went down from there. I think people got caught by this. I'm not really sure oil wanted to go along for the fall. Gold, copper were dumping for some time before oil went along.
On a day like this, I feel like a helpless noob. I was bearish coming in, and then bullish after the inventory spike and now bearish again. Lawd, help me!

Questions for the day:

How was today's trade at around 82.77-82.50 exactly the same as Monday's afternoon short trade?.

Were there any major differences?.

Did you make exactly the same/similar mistakes as Monday?

Why?

I was bearish coming in also, but after the 'spike' my thought was: I don't know how much higher it should go...probably not a whole lot. this bit of choppiness today is basically inline with what I was expecting. It could go back up of course, but I'm still learning towards bearish on this market. Looking to sell on rallies

Looks like a lot of you, myself included, will be visiting the "woulda, shoulda, coulda" thread when all this is said and done. I bet the scope of that plunge took everyone by surprise. I wonder who was behind it. Some pig, no doubt...oink, oink!

As long as we close the pit session below 82, I'll be selling every damn rally under the sun.

Even though it was just a sim trade (yeah, that short @ 82.77 with the really nice reversal signal that I was waiting for after the shallower breakout thru highs), there is something so very very sad about taking $9 of a $3920 move.

Well, everything is s'posed to be nice and rosy in hindsight. Don't be too hard on yourself. There will always be yet another opportunity.

As for me, it looks like I'll be ending the day pretty much flat after ruffling all those feathers. However, today has been a good learning experience.
