Backadjusted shows the ratio of high to low swings as they actually occurred in the market. It accounts for rollover gaps. But it does not show real prices.

A nonbackadjusted shows actual traded prices, but due to rollover it does not show accurate high to low swings.

For example, in this backadjusted chart attached, it shows that oil traded above 180, which it did not.
