The military's 20/20 uncorrected vision requirement is largely just another way of reducing the number of applicants, culling the herd or selecting the "creme of the crop" as it were. Civilian pilots only have to have 20/20 corrected vision. After a military pilot gets his wings if he needs vision correction later they are generally allowed to keep flying.
What about height? Do they let short people fly? Those dashboards are already pretty high.
They have minimum and maximum requirements, as they should.
Should the military spend a million dollars training a wannabe pilot whose too short to see over the glare shield? Or so tall the canopy won't close? Or doesn't have sufficiently adequate eye sight to spot enemy aircraft miles away? Or how about someone who suffers from vertigo? A modern fighter can cost $60M the F22 costs over $140M. Do you want to trust those kind of tax dollars, not to mention national security, to a blind dwarf with the IQ of a lima bean?
Not everyone is cut out for every kind of job. Sometimes it's sad when someone realizes they're never going to do what they really want to do due to a lack of some physical or mental attribute. That's life, and all the stupid fucking political correctness in the world isn't going to change it. Play the hand you're dealt.

It's narrow, I know that no shorter than 5'6'' no taller than 6'0'' I think. So, according to biometric norms, most men can fly.
