Do you mind if I join you on this journal? I usually trade CL but lately I've been watching NQ, I don't normally post during market hours, I will see if I can post a chart later on in the day.
So far today's high is 2793.50 and the low is 2770.50 - range is 23 points or so- have a good day

Have at it.. Nice job and thanks for the chart. Are your profits from short or long side?
 
Instynct - all shorts so far, ES gave the clue, it was coming down like nobody's business whilst NQ was holding up!
I know you like to short below the previous day's low but there are so many ways to skin the CAT!
I use 5 min and 1 min charts, 20 bar ema is my friend most days, unless I have a red day, then I call it other names!!! I should be watching the charts not talking on ET
 
Breakeven day for me. Missed the first breakout at around 9 pacific, and tried to play the second which didn't work. On the bright side, I did pick up some profits at the initial opening pop before ES started selling off and managed to stay out of trouble. The multi day structure starting from the 4/18 low is still bullish which is why I refrained from taking shorts even though we broke below my level of 2779. In hindsight that was a good move.

Structure and price levels... thats all one needs to solve this puzzle. But of course to be profitable you need to be able to execute, something I lacked today. Not feeling too hot right now because of the missed breakout so I will shut it down before I create problems for myself.
