How does that work, exactly? Praying for someone's soul?
Where is a person's soul? How do you focus on that soul? Is it in a box somewhere with an ID tag, so you know it is a certain person's soul to pray for? Don't you realize how dumb that sounds?
And before you start with the whole "Well I pray through Jesus who knows everyone's souls, so vicariously I am praying for your soul", I call BS. There have been trillions of souls born on this planet since humans had what you would equate as souls. How does the guy keep track?
What is he, a deity? Oh yeah, he is God incarnate. Pretty sad state of affairs when the architect of the universe goes on a bender and forgets what his creation is, and has to send a representative to pick up the slack.
That's not omniscience, that's getting shnockered on the job. God is an alky. He should attend some AA meetings which curriculum is based, ironically, on Himself.

If He is going to reveal Himself to me, He does it when I read what He wrote. (The Bible.) But it's still HIM that's revealing Himself. There are many times I read the Bible and it's just regular reading. Then there are times when He brings just the right words across my path for what I needed to hear at the moment. Things like that. So how do I know it's Him? I know. But it's hard to explain. It's not like a weird sensation, more like conviction that it's true and He exists and maybe it's best to explain it as His person becomes more of a reality in the moment. But I don't feel a presence or anything. More like an awareness of some part of His character, His holiness, or His eternalness, or His kindness, or His wholesome wisdom for designing things as they should be, but not as they are now, due to ....guess who

And these threads. It's really easy, you just ask Jesus to help someone come to know Him. There, done and we trust Him to know all about the person. I think the prayer goes, "Now I lay me down to sleep and pray thee, Lord, my soul to keep."
But we didn't pray that. We just prayed for people to come to actually KNOW Jesus. We also prayed He would reveal Himself to people on these threads. So, maybe, at some point in your lifetime, He will help you to know that He is real. I don't know if He will or won't. But I'd rather pray for someone than not pray for them.
You have so much to learn about how to "hear" the God you speak of. This music is like 30 years old. You are truly a student on the path. I am not the one who needs prayer for my soul. YOU are.
