I am baffled by why we are supposed to apologize for The Crusades. Any of us have anything to do with it? And what was so terrible about fighting religious repression? Are muslims feeling bad about their relentless wars of conquest and religious repression? No, they want to do it again.
And haven't we seen how silly Bush looked and our current political and military leaders look trying to pretend that the problem isn't islam but some sort of vague "radical" or "militant" movement?
How can we hope to combat something when we are too PC to even call it what it is?

the roman empire was large and in the middle east long before it became Christian. You might remember it was Pilate who had the Romans nail Jesus to the cross and the behest of some the local Cronies.
back then DB would have been telling us how great the Roman govt was even if we lost our freedom and Futurecurrents would have told us that we were causing global warming because it was so warm everyone wore skirts and sandals.

There's nothing like making a buck when, and wherever you can. In a capitalist society making a buck will trump reason every time! Not saying that's a bad, or good thing. (For those with less than a tenth grade education: It is a bad thing.)
I agree , we could also sell those same weapons to someone else and multiply the capital gain.
Its been done many times . Very profitable of course. I am thinking now of Krups. Invented armor that could not be pierced. Then invented a bullet that could pierce it; sold one to one side, then sold the other to the other side.
