Christian Forgiveness

Evangelicals say that forgiveness is at the heart of Christianity. Jesus, above, would certainly agree.

I forgive Trump to be a good standing citizen. I hope he is able to atone himself in retirement on his golf courses.

Amen

Donald Trump makes promise to evangelicals 01:24
Story highlights
  • Penny Young Nance: Women evangelicals are divided over the election
  • She says evangelical women will have to find a way to unify once election is over

(CNN)Left-leaning friends, and especially members of the Washington media elite, are confused by evangelical women's views on Donald Trump. They might be surprised to learn that evangelical women "do" nuance more than they give us credit for.

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending the homecoming celebrations for my alma mater, Liberty University. It was a wonderful opportunity to speak with evangelical women from around the nation. Predictably, this year's presidential election was widely discussed, and I walked away with several impressions.

There seem to be three camps among evangelical women at this point in the campaign.
There are those in the camp of respected author Beth Moore, who have had enough and simply refuse to vote for Trump. "I'm one among many women sexually abused, misused, stared down, heckled, talked naughty to. Like we liked it. We didn't. We're tired of it," Moore tweeted this month.

She also had a word about evangelical leaders still supporting Trump: "Try to absorb how acceptable the disesteem and objectifying of women has been when some Christian leaders don't think it's that big a deal."...

I don't know about these typesof Christians, but as far as REAL Catholics go,
what about confessing their own sins with contrition?

I am not seeing it from you religious so called 'Christian' people.

Real Christianity leads to this:

If Trump could do the same with all the women he "objectified", that would be real Christianity.
Instead, he kind of brushed it off like something not important.

You might not be able to forgive Trump... But... is anyone forgiving the 22 million black babies killed by Hillary's team.

I don't see how anyone who cares about life or professes to be a Christian can vote for a women like hillary who steadfastly supports late term abortion.

I don't see how anyone can forgive Hillary (politically) that she was paid 140 million dollars by the russians to give them uranium which probably is going into their Satan 2 missile which can wipe us out.

jem: Trump does not seem to realize what were the consequences of his sexual predatory type of behaviour on these women. For all we know, may be these women had to spend money on psy and personal coaches to remove the negative psychological effects of Trump behaviour.

This is where the power of real Catholics are : the capacity of having sinners to feel real contrition.
I bet this above police officer is one of the most respected police officer in the USA - even if he at one time did wrong. Why? because of real contrition.
Trump missed his chance: he could have actually used his past sexually predatory behaviour to show real contrition, and actually win the women's vote.
Why didn' Trump go and visit:
- rape centers places that offer shelter and medical help to women who have suffered from sexually predatory behaviours?
- visit centers that treat sexual predators ( rapist, pedophiles, etc) to highlight in what ways he has detached himself from these types of behaviours
- shelters for abused children : obviously photos with his daughter Ivanka might have raised eyebrows there,
but it would have been an opportunity for Trump to explain the potential consequences of debrided sexual behaviour and mindsets.

Trump did not exploit his past bad behaviour. The police officer video shows the power of confession.
Trump shows the power of people who don't really regret their past behaviours.

To get an understanding of why confession is really what distinguish real Catholics to those who only use Christian for names.

Nitro, pictured above, would agree with me that unless he forgives like Jesus, then he can't be called a brother. But Nitro could be called whatever it is that you call someone who latches on to the legend, associates with it, and pretends to respect it...and then betrays the essence of the legend's teachings in word and deed, indeed, in intent. I would call Nitro a Christian, but don't think that would be quite fair to those that actually try, to the best of their misinformation.
