Quote from vhehn:
these kinds of things should be taught. why however is it necessary to inject a mythical story about a mangod who was impregnated by majic and was killed then came alive again to teach higher ideals?
A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.
-- Albert Einstein, "Religion and Science,"
You don't understand. Its symbolism. It was never meant to be taken literally. If you want to really learn about how man has created myths to put a human face on God then read Joseph Campbell's Hero with a Thousand Faces.
You are all form over substance.
