Chris Matthews continues to prove he is delusional.

Quote from cgroupman:

Oh, come on. I think both sides are involved, and both sides have similar viewing statistics. Remember, according to many on the right, the MSM is all left, and only Fox the redeemer is on the right side. There are many MSM political shows, of course, not just MSNBC.

Not a bad, far reaching interview IMO. A lot of good stuff about JFK and Mathew's book.

If both sides had similar view habits...
why don't the ratings reflect similar habits.
You have a choice...

Very few lefties or
very few tv or talk radio informed lefties

Have to say it. What about Fox? 'Fair and balanced?' I think most people understand that Chris is left, 90% of Fox is right. I repeat my desire to go back to when we had real news shows. CNN is ok, but not perfect either.

edit: Much like the mass migration of republicans into a class they prefer to be called, Independents. A result of the Bush wars I think. I really wish we had more true Independents.

Agree;
FOX is right, fair & balanced. Chris seems to be mostly wrong:D

Not a prediction.

Quote from Max E. Pad:

At the one minute mark, he once again says that he is a centrist commentator.

Then starting at the 6:00 mark, Mary Katherine Ham takes him to task on his coverage of OWS vs the Tea Party. Pretty interesting exchange.

Its amazing watching how quickly Chris Matthews gets quiet, when confronted about the nonsense he so boisterously portrays on his show.

WTF is it with far left wingers, where they are completely unwilling to admit that they are infact left wingers? I dont understand why so many of them try to claim they are centrists and non partisan. Does Chris Matthews think he is fooling anyone? In the last 20 seconds he puts the icing on the cake where he says he has never seen any pictures of bush with hitler moustaches, then when he gets laughed at, his response is "well you guys have a pointed view, I try to look at things objectively"

Again, using some of the right's allegations. All of the MSm and MSNBC against FOx - overall viewership. Believe it or not, even the MSm has some political shows. More MSM and MSNBC per all the right's own admissions.

so you are counting csi and hi 5 O and reruns of friends, house and arf as political shows?

or are you saying all of sudden only the left turns on meet the press after not watching cnn or msnbc during the week.

Actually, coming from someone who watches MSNBC, CNN, and FOX...

Fox is not the Right's equivalent to MSNBC. NBC and affiliates are much further to the left than Fox and affiliates are to the right. I don't think that anyone will deny that Fox is more friendly to politicians on the right than the other networks, but it is incredibly lopsided if you count the positive vs negative reports on every network.

CBS had the most positive portrayals — 57% positive vs. 43% negative, partly because of its highly favorable (89% positive) evaluations of Ron Paul. FOX had the most balanced overall coverage with 52% positive vs. 48% negative comments. NBC was the most negative overall with 27% positive vs. 73% negative coverage, followed closely by ABC with 32% positive vs. 68% negative coverage. Both NBC and ABC featured 85% negative comments on Romney.

[...]

Romney fared slightly better on FOX “Special Report”, than on the networks, with 63% negative vs. 37% positive evaluations. By contrast, Ron Paul fared less well than he did on the networks, with evenly balanced coverage — 50% negative and 50% positive comments. Rick Santorum did best on FOX with 63% positive vs. 37% negative judgments. These were the only candidates who received enough evaluations on FOX for meaningful analysis.

The above was conducted by the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University.

The interesting thing about that study was actually that Ron Paul got the most positive coverage by far of all the candidates, and Mitt Romney had the most negative. yet it always seems to be Paul supporters claiming that the media isn't giving their guy a fair shake. The data simply doesn't support that claim.

I thought Fox was being disrespectul of him (Ron Paul) in interviews by O'Reilly and others but the last few weeks they've cleaned up their act and given him a fair shake, imho.

I agree that everyone is giving him more respect. I disagree about O'Reilly. IMO he more than anyone else on TV gives people a fair shake. If he doesn't think someone stands a chance, he says it, because his whole deal is to cut through the spin. On Fox it is definitely between him and Bret Baier for being the most fair and asking the right questions.

I think everybody has been disrespectful of Ron Paul, myself included. It seems everyone got tired of calling him a kook but they still recognize he won't win the nomination. But, he might have enough sway to influence the platform at the convention.

I see Gingrich is now suing to try to make the 50 Florida delegates proportional instead of winner takes all. Gingrich is like a little pit bull. We are going to have to euthanize him if he bites someone.
