I knew this crusty old guy in Maine many years ago who was a hard-core McCarthy era type of guy who had also sorts of books about Alger Hiss and how the commies were infiltrating America and eventually the socialists would take over if they were not stopped. etc.etc.
Anyway, within that "viewpoint" school of thought, shall we say, that many of the hardliners had, the theories and believers always placed the University of Chicago as the epi-center of the commie takeover in the U.S. The University of Chicago being the primary breeding ground for lefty hard core commies/socialists and more economic class warfare oriented than the basic hippy lefties of Berkely that came letter.
I am pretty sure he would not have been surprised to learn that Bernie is a University of Chicago graduate.
So I chuckle a little thinking of the old guy. And then put a quick point up on the board for him wherever he might be.
