Clueless righties having a circle jerk here. 
Real liberals don't think much of Matthews. His politics are purely situational. He was totally in the sack for Bush in 2004. Liberals had Bush pegged in 2000 and anybody who wasn't repulsed by him by 2004 was either hopelessly clueless or a fellow traveller. Matthews was a fellow traveller. Then Katrina happened and he "did a 180".

Are you serious? So you cherry pick 1 interview, (where he is in front of a crowd) and you think that is representative of his overall pattern of behaviour? I could probably find you videos where Glenn Beck looks like a genius, if i were to show you a single video where he appeared to be intelligent would that negate the fact that hes a lunatic?
Its funny how you always accuse other people of partisanship, but you only ever seem to end up on one side of the debate, every single time, the fact that you would cherry pick 1 video from Chris Matthews and try to form a positive argument/opinion about him based on that single video is proof that you are simply far to biased for your opinion to mean anything.
Its funny how you try to convince yourself you are a centrist, it sounds awfuly similar to Chris Matthews saying he is "at the 40 yard line"(barely left of center) politically. I dont understand what it is about lefties like you where you refuse to admit that you are left wing. I have said it a bunch of times, the reason why i respect, the opinion of Ricter is because he will come out and tell you he is 100% commie, and he is proud of it, so while i agree with him on almost nothing, his opinion holds validity in my mind, because he is honest. I got no problem admitting im pretty far right when it comes to government.

Bigarrow. I have been watching Chris Mathews for over a decade. I think I'm pretty fair with people. Chris is one of the most rude and obnoxious interviewers I have ever seen. Fine, you got me on semantics with the word "all". But the greater point here is Chris treats "most" of his guests exactly like Elder treated him. And that is exactly why Elder did that. He was making a point to Chris.
