read that book you call "The Old Testament." It was written about 3000 years ago. Page after page nothing but making the case Cannan belongs to the Israelites. Even making the case God himself decreed it.Quote from Lucrum:
A few days ago you were asking about the history of Israel, and now you're an expert on it?![]()
I agree. But we don't really know how much Christians would be willing to forgive if they were in a losing position. Everybody advocates forgiveness when they are in a position of strength, and fighting to the death when they are losing.Quote from pspr:
There is a people on this planet who are consumed with hate that has been passed down through generations. The word 'forgive' is not in their vocabulary or their desires. They would rather be dead than to forgive. So be it.
They would fight to the death over that one, too. Mecca wasn't good enough. Take over Jerusalem, too, so Jews and Christians can't have it.Quote from oldtime:
Maybe we ought to just convert them all to Christians. Isn't that who Jerusalem rightfully belongs to any way?

What I know is after WWII, none of my family who didn't make it out ahead of time existed. Poof, gone. Never heard from them again.
Those that survived tried to go back to their home, no deal
Tried to go to England, too many, we have enough
Tried to go to USA, enough already
Sent to Palestine, after all, Palestinians are sub human, even worse than a jew, who cares if they lose their land?
well, I'm not that cynical. My family is very diverse, jews, christians, and now over there in Africa moslems. I don't label people and make blanket statements based on what religion they say they belong to. Some just say they are one or the other out of respect to their parents. Very few have extreme views on anything. Some do, but they are a very small minority.Quote from pspr:

The battle has raged ever since Islam was invented. ('invented', Yes, that's my take on it.)

in 1970 I made up my mind I would never again try to educate a racist
hard to beleive, here it is 2012, and I'm about ready to make the same decision on religion.
I always liked religion, I've studied almost all of them, and been a part of two or three of them. But maybe it's time to take the vow.
