China is diversifying away from the US in many arenas. It does not mean that the China wants to stop exporting to the US, which is obviously still a large market.
Furthermore Mexico is a gateway to Mexico itself, Canada and South America.

Not sure Canada wants to open itself up to China after the dick move that China did during the Huawei crisis. LOL As far as I know, Canada is a small open economy just like Australia and just like Australia, it actually relies on China for its exports. Mexico and South America are poor (no offense) so not sure how much money China will be able to make there, maybe getting some cheap imports like agricultural products and etc. from there but exports? Dunno.

Based on the actions of the CCP, the US should be acting to reduce it's dependence on China. The Russia Ukraine war would have ended long ago and likely never would have happened without China's support. China supports North Korea by giving them military technology and trade. How China handled COVID, human rights issues, IP theft, cyberwar, fentanyl, and many others are reasons why the world should be looking for alternative trading partners to China. I have respect for the Chinese people, but I don't trust the CCP.

Just seeing how badly CCP treats its own people, you can see how well CCP would treat the world if one day it really becomes the world's dominant power.

So finally US doesn't have to worry about illegal immigrants from Mexico anymore. They will be staying put to work for Chinese factories that will pay them decent wages. Yay!!
