I dont blame game the chicoms for creating islands/could be a good idea. XOM + Arabia did that with oil + gas drilling.But trying to bully just because of a man made island, good way to get a chicom navy nuked

If China is to take over global hegemony from the US it will have to adapt like US did from its early success to even greater success. I doubt the current government & culture can do that without radical change.
The US went from its post revolutionary economy to the pre-Civil War economy a certain way but then had to adapt during the Reconstruction period (post Civil War era) which had its depressions but also success like the gay 1890s economy and ultimately the boom of the 1920s. Then US had success from the post war period starting in the 1950s. All along the way the US political tactics and work culture changed radically. That is what is required. I mean the US went from 90% agriculture to 5% from the early 1900s up until now. I believe that is why the payroll report is referred to Non-Farm employment.

I agree. Only nation(s) abundant with natural resources that can be exploited by rich countries is/are in Africa. Unfortunately, there are too much damn instability and shenanigans to make any investment there worthwhile.
Well China will succeed. Every single time when I read an article lamenting about China's doom, I just laugh. China's existed for five THOUSAND years! It's been through more shit than any other country except maybe some of the older civilizations like Egypt, Iran, Iraq, and Greece in the world. War, poverty, famine, whatever shit that we have never even imagined, it's been through them all 10 times over and yet it's still here, about to become the second largest economy in the world. Xi is right in this case. People just need to be patient and perhaps adjust their expectations a bit.

Communism is like a red shirt keep on washing it and it will turn pink. If Mao were to see the opulence of wealth and extravagance a tear would be shed. Back to capitalism because it works like it has since the invention of fiat currency by the Chinese.
The talk of a 40 year boom cycle ending is silly at best. There will most likely a technological paradigm shift that will set the next wave of growth up. The Western World would be a fool to think that the dragon ever sleeps.
