China To Suspend Circuit Breaker Halts, Friday, Jan 8.

I think it's more of growth pains and cultural dissonance. They grew an enormous economy in relatively short time, and that's impressive.

Of course they did. America handed them our technology to be used in their cheap-labor economy.

You could get rich fast, too.... if the big dog dumped a ton of money in your lap.

We've dumped a lot of money in a lot of places...usually ends up in the pockets of the ruling elite.

Circuit breakers are in place...because the markets are Too Big to Fail :banghead:

Well now there is no circut breaker in China. If things get ugly tomorrow there is no stopping it.

At the speed it hit 7% was brutal.

I think we also have to consider that its reported that 80% of the buying is by retail traders. I haven't studied the charts at all, but in other markets we have institutional buying that often comes in and majorly reverses down moves. Perhaps its even the Plunge Protection Team as its often called. Without major institution money, and with a much larger percentage of buyers being amateurs, how is it going to go up? Who will the large buyers be?

i expect -10% on the shanghai index at some point tonight, unless the chinese government starts buying shares

everybody that wanted out the last 2 days but couldn't because of how quick the circuit breakers stopped everything will finally get their chance tonight

I work for the CIA. We are naked shorting the Chinese back to the Stone Age.
(Just kidding. Maybe.)

If you were a stockholder in China what would you be thinking of doing as soon as the market opens in an hour?
I don't think I would be buying
