I haven't heard the Boomer consensus of "go to war with China". It's true many (not just Boomers) remember what WWII did to transform America... and how America was spared the devastation because the fighting was on foreign soil. Many do say, "What we need to fix things is another war and America will be like it was after WWII". Totally stupid notion, of course. "Things" are not like they were in 1940s.

What can YOU do about the mess? You have to pick your battles, and ours won't even be fought until we're already in crisis and it's too late to do anything about. (Ultimately, America will either succumb to dictatorship or there will be armed revolution. Neither desirable.) I think the only likely solution is "pack up your shit and git". Leave the country. (First places I'd check out... New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Switzerland. Lots have opted for Singapore like Jim Rogers, but Asia is too hot and muggy for me.) American politicos and parasites are too stupid and greedy to ever even attempt to fix our big problems... and we ARE being flushed down the toilet as we speak.

I agree with you. im definitely hard right when it comes to fiscal issues and all for truly free markets, but to me the country comes before ideology. If you are an American defense contractor then you should be locked into the US marketplace. oh we had to cut back defense spending and you're making less money? people are gonna lose their jobs? too bad, deal with it.

Also, i would throw up tariffs on nations where our corporations have outsourced. yes that would force them to bring production home, or get priced out by knockoffs. we are the worlds largest consumer by far, i would use that to our advantage.

But that's great because "Singapore was ranked 6th in the World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems in the year 2000. Bloomberg ranked Singapore’s healthcare system the 2nd most efficient in the world after Hong Kong." Wow, looks like Singapore is it! OH SHIT!
