Because this is what it comes down to, a blatant violation of the fundamental freedoms guaranteed in the constitution to choose my own damn work place and employer. It's preposterous how suddenly anything can be justified just because some clown up there says so.

No it's not. Those American executives and engineers can still choose not to. They are not going to be thrown into jail or be sent to concentration camps or worse having their family members jailed or executed just because they choose to stay in China. They will just lose their American citizenship but that's about it. Nothing will happen to them or their family members. If it's the other way around, Chinese citizens who are working in America or for American companies who refuse to go back to China if China issues retaliatory orders which I am sure China will, watch what happens when these Chinese citizens refuse to comply. They will be asking for political asylum and their family members and relatives who are still living in China will be at least detained.

You have the right to choose but that doesn't mean it won't have consequences. At least the consequences in America and the West do not involve lives of their own and their family members being harmed unlike in some countries. That's the difference.

But as to Chinese firms employing Americans who currently live in US? So there are Chinese semiconductor firms existing in America right now employing Americans and they still haven't learned how to make semiconductor chips?? LOL Yeah you gotta be kidding me. Oversupply of chips? Ford and others cannot complete entire product lines because they can't get their hands on chips. Same with Japanese car makers. Nvidia just released its newest flagship video card. The cards were sold out within 4 minutes, and not because of a marketing ploy but because they can't get more allocations at the foundries. Companies can't get sufficient stock. The demand is there. Where do you live?

You need to look into AMD and Intel's latest reports. Within the last few months demand has sharply dropped off. What you're talking about is 6 months or more ago.
Video card scalping has been a thing for ages, all the new models sell out. Meanwhile crypto mining is mostly dead and the market is flooded with decent performing older cards.
Keep yourself up to date.

Fact is the new models can't be produced at the numbers to meet brisk demand, in many industries. And that's because of constraint chip capacity, artificially created I might add.

You need to look into AMD and Intel's latest reports. Within the last few months demand has sharply dropped off. What you're talking about is 6 months or more ago.
Video card scalping has been a thing for ages, all the new models sell out. Meanwhile crypto mining is mostly dead and the market is flooded with decent performing older cards.
