China semiconductor industry decapitated

I believe in trade and inter dependency to avoid military conflicts. That's what the US has been selling the world since 1950.
Should we tell Chinese how to behave in their house? Dunno, how would we like Chinese telling us how to behave at home. We'd give them the finger and do what we do best, shoot one another in the name of freedom.
Tech transfer is the rule if you want to make millions from cheap Chinese labor. Don't want it? Don't do business in China! It's like we telling Chinese companies to follow our accounting rules..Don't like it? Don't list in the US.

Yes, their encroaching authoritarianism is a concern. We have some responsibility with it, just like we encouraged Ukraine to seek democracy. But I'm no fan of China's or anyone else's bullying. Their hierarchical culture and face saving obsession coupled with their sudden dominant position in the world is not reassuring at all. Like teens who suddenly realize their strength and capacity to instill fear in people. Their agressive posturing and lack of humility may lead us down a dangerous road.

One of the best things China ever did for their people beyond opening their markets was the local industry partnership/"forced tech transfer" requirement. All I'm saying is the US grew overly dependent on their labor and non-existent IP protections while ignoring their military and influence growth. Just like we've done on Saudi oil. I just found it weird that you drew an analogy of China being dependent on US/western chips but ignored the much broader US dependency on Chinese wares.

As far as telling others what to do? Besides the US, no clearer example than China really; Tibet, Uyghurs, early HK takeover, Taiwan, predatory lending infra projects worldwide, south China sea and neighbors, etc, etc..

I'd rather we bullied dictatorships and authoritarian regimes rather than the other way around tbh.

The timing and muted Chinese response is interesting though. My guess is the WH sought this opportunity of economic uncertainty (which China's feeling as well) to lessen retaliatory sanctions ("they can't afford it").

The US and other Western companies affected of course demand compensation from the US govt.
In the end it's as usual the US taxpayer that has to pay the consequences of such idiotic actions of this senile idiot in the WH.
US can not compete fairly, so it must use such desperate dirty actions & tricks...
It's futile, man! Only a loser would act as unfairly as such. US already is a loser :D
How big must the fear be by this sicko USA soon to be overtaken by China... :)

USA is not aware that it's alone, as nobody else will support it, except some bribed "friend" tiny countries, ie. bought vassals... :)

I'm sure this sicko idea comes from the overlords (the puppet master) of the US govt, the "Globalists"... :)
What I like about your posts is all my seething anger at America go away and instead I want a flag tattooed on my chest and tell you to fk off

Wait, let me make sure I understand this correctly: the US wants to reign in a totalitarian regime by threatening to strip Americans off their CITIZENSHIP if they don't quit their jobs? So American Chinese would be left only with their Chinese citizenship. What about Americans who have no other citizenship? They become stateless?

How is it even possible to have citizenship revoked, whether someone was born American or naturalized? Let me get this straight, so you can murder, rape, be the most extremist racist, mass shoot homosexuals or whatever other crime you could possibly imagine and you won't ever lose your American citizenship. Yet, now you happen to work at a Chinese semiconductor company and they want to take your citizenship away? If this is not an April fools then this makes me lose my last little bit of respect for this shit nation. Even @d08, who usually sides by default against Russia and China must be having serious issues with that.

Only shows how desperate and in decline the US really is. I predicted this in many threads, which is that the US will start foul play when it realizes that it's decline can't be stopped and that fair means of competition don't work anymore. Perfect example of a case of unpleasant player of "Mensch Ärger Dich Nicht".

If true this would be the most repulsive and anti democratic decision and treatment of own citizens in the entire American history. Even war deserters or draft dodgers did not lose their citizenship.

You don’t understand how this works.

This is overtly in defense of Taiwan. Protecting our IP and the means of production of a key ally. No different than defending Kuwait over oil. A huge fucking flex. Go Brandon!

‘Taiwan is f*ked regardless of the chips. Its export to China is over 60%, only surplus is the trades with China. Chips are nothing until recent decades. China is always wanting it back, is its Crimea.

yeah, this was overtly aggressive and smells of Taiwan threat assessment warning shot. Basically, what we'd have done pre-UA invasion except we had little to leverage against Russia w/o the Euros.

Still Usa is the main economic, military, tech subject in the world. Just did what an empire would do to keep the position. The missing point is that they just created (with their actions) new alliances that highly unlikely will be able to fight later.

Divide et impera.

lolz, yeah, this would be worse than native Americans, blacks, women, japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, etc... not allowed to participate in the democratic process and being "citizens" in name only.
