China Says First jet to Cost Less Than Boeing, Airbus

Quote from pod11432:

Not highly emotional people, obviously. The procurement will be done by corporations wanting to cut costs.

And if the telecom sector is any indicator then you can be SURE that airlines will buy Chinese-made jets. I hear Huawei is the leading company to out maneuver USA/EU companies to provide 4G equipments to Verizon and AT&T.

Huawei is basically the IT arm of the Chinese military, its safe to say the US and EU govts will never outsource anything to them :-)

On a side note, Huawei and Haier and Lenovo, the latter two because of acquisitions in the west, are probably the best known/respected Chinese brands.

i have seen few female players wearing chinese apparel during the open, the times are certainly changing.

I still dont know if I would get on a "chinese" plane :-)

Quote from aegis:

Look at Chinese drywall, baby formula, and toy paint. Do you really want to fly in a Chinese airplane?

I'll take Amtrak, at least until the trains are made in China as well.

Agreed, I would never fly on one

Let's hope they only use the planes for cargo transport.

With chinese pilots.
Only with routes over asia, middle east, russia, or communist latin america countries.

And the British said the same about India in the early 1700s.

Quote from jjf:

Funny you should say that.
The Europeans were saying the exact same thing in the 1870's about the Americans.
Small world really

A significant number of rudders/tails and other Boeing plane parts are made in China. I do not recall exact number. There is one model of AirBus made in China. You guys must stay aground. You pathetic ignorant BS.

Well the chinese had minimal R&D costs for this plane as most design and technology would have been stolen by their agnets working for Boeing and Airbus, so they should beable to offer the plane cheaper.
