China Refuses To Supply Aircraft Parts To Russia

A couple of years ago I was talking to a friend in Russia who owns a factory that produces very high-end commercial radio equipment (for example, microwave relay stations that very high-end traders use to reduce lag). High cost, high technology, lots of IP. (By the way, the only example I could find, really, of Russia producing something this advanced technologically). I am not in contact with the guy right now, but I am pretty sure he will have to close manufacturing because he obviously needs parts from abroad.

But the point is - he talked to me about dealing with China or selling in China. And he said, basically, he completely gave up on it. He said that every negotiation was: "we will buy from you, this once or twice, but you will give us the technology, so we can copy it and not buy from you again.". He said it was completely blatant and open, they were not hiding it.

That is why he refused to sell in China. Apparently some people don't value their stuff enough to do the same thing.

A lot of companies don't because if you can open up your markets and sell 20% more product, even if only for a few years before they copy it...doesn't matter. The incentive structures are setup so that those in control only consider the short-term benefit.

the first country that sent a person to the moon
Ha ha . They may have sent a man to the moon, but if they did he did not come back! Russia did crash a vehicle onto the moon surface before the Americans successfully landed and returned alive! Getting there is the easy part. Returning alive is the hard part. The Russian crash landing is in fact how we learned that the surface would support a landing craft!

Well I was told that they were the first country that sent a man to space, not to the moon. And he did come back alive, a hero and an inspiration to all. It's just sad a country that has always been on our side and has collaborated with us in the West on so many things are now on the opposite side of us, the same as Iraq, Libya and etc....

Yeah, it was Yuri Gagarin. The first "cosmonaut", which we call astronauts. As for Russia flipping to the other side?

Well, let's see...

Russia + USA - WWI enemy.

Russia + USA - WWII ally.

Russia + USA - Post WWII enemy.

Russia + USA - Post Berlin Wall ally.

Russia + USA - Ukraine invasion enemy.

It is such a shame, because they have such a resonating and beautiful national anthem.

That's correct so far as I know, however I was responding to this :

"I just find it bewildering that Russia, the first country that sent a person to the moon..."

This might be correct if there was a man in the package they crash landed on the moon, prior to the U.S. Apollo mission. But if there was, he did not return.

Russian armored fighting vehicles equipped with Chinese tires have experienced widespread tire failure in Ukraine

Check out your home, there are plenty that are "made in China", your computer, your mouse, you modern, you router, did they cause your trading failure?

So why you use them instead of using only "made in USA"?

I don't believe anyone here who blame China products who doesn't use China products.

What's the difference between a Bic lighter and a tool you buy at Harbor Freight?
>>>>You can use a Bic lighter more than once before you throw it away.
