Quote from Tracy McGreedy:

The Chinese invented pretty much everything. The Romans scammed everything and stamped it their own. I guess "prizes" weren't around thousands of years ago to celebrate these things.

The majority of US patents of the past 20 years were developed by Asian scientists working for US corporations. Go to Google. Go to Microsoft. Go to Cisco. Open the doors. What do you see..... CHINESE PEOPLE!

The Chinese invented brandy and whiskey?

Sure, if by inventing you mean consuming gazillion gallons of the stuff.

This looks a lot like those email forwards that every ethnic group likes to concoct with "my country greatest" zeal. Most of this is very, very suspect.

Which is not to take away from the fact that the Chinese have had many tremendous achievements in their past, and I'm optimistic that technological innovation is about to take off in a big way in China.

Don't forget kite, chess, and soy sauce!

Quote from RedDuke:

Chess came from India, this is a widely known fact.

He was probably talking about another chess, the chinese chess.

Yet another chess invented by chinese is the famous "go".
