If we remove Mississippi I guarantee we get 10+ points.
I was joking. If you dig into the data behind that website, you'll find that it's not very reliable.I am sorry but California is also dumb.

Doubt it. The advantage that the US has is that it attracts talent from all over the world--many who stay and build the future here. China is extremely homogenous and authoritarian, which means global talent won't flock there.
areas where China leads the US

How is this "IQ" calculated?
Lol it's not about China vs. the "West" it's about open societies vs. closed ones. Closed societies have structural limits (e.g. Japan) while open ones are more flexible (e.g. UK) and innovative.Yeah but it's a little discomforting that a large source of talent comes from China. It's nice that the West does have an advantage of attracting talent but it also helps that the West can cultivate home-grown talent as well so there is no over-reliance on attracted talents especially when the West does have a large pool of untapped talent. If you ever studied math and science, you will find 90+% of the theorems and rules and formulas are all discovered by mathematicians and scientists in the West. Even modern technology today is the same thing. All we need is to cultivate that talent.
