Hi, just managed to get access to trade the Chinese markets. A little bumpy recently. Focused on doing commodity outrights/spreads as of now.

Looking for people who trade the Chinese markets, to discuss where and how you keep updated with news and government announcements.

Also looking to see which software is best in the Chinese markets. My mandarin is not very good and hence my access in limited due to that.

Currently using wenhua and I would say it is really primitive compared to TT xtrader and CQG.

Anyone has any input?

There are tons of websites, including the futures exchanges for information. Most of them in Chinese and I do not know many that are in English.

The software in China is mainly crap, but you can trade Chinese futures in Singapore with the software that you are used to using
 
@java Not trading any grains at the moment. I like to trade the ones with highest volume, makes for easy scalping. Are you currently trading China grain? Any arb opportunity between the spreads?

@water7 Why China? I'm trading ASX, CME and Eurex products as well. Started China not too long ago due to it's high volatility and the market is quite forgiveable if you do spreads.

@RifffRafff Those websites don't really tell you what you need to know especially when you need to know. Just to quote an example, the chinese govt gave an order to their financial companies to exit their long positions for their commodities futures at 930pm (gmt+8) last friday.

Can I use TT/CQG for chinese markets? Or what software in Singapore are you using to trade Chinese futures?
 
You can use TT/CQG for trading on the Singapore Exchange which has the A50 contract ( closely mirrors the CSI300 )

If you want more up to date news, try Caixin ( the right hand side has a panel with a constant scroll of financial news ) or follow people on Weibo.
 
@RifffRafff I do spread the A50 with the CSI 300. The only problem with Caixin is that my mandarin is not up to par when it comes to chinese words but thanks for the guide. Currently I use sci99 for the metals and chemical commods.
 
Most of the English stuff has to be translated which takes a bit of time. I don't use sci99, but the English site seems really far behind the Chinese one.

I hate looking at simplified characters soooo much
 
yes I was refering to chem99 for updates but I receive email updates from sci99 in english. That's the biggest problem. The English site is way too behind the Chinese ones.
 
You can work on your Mandarin, I had to pick up Japanese to watch the Nikkei. You pick it up really quickly, since you see the same words over and over.
