Reminded me of newspaper articles saying back in the 1980s that Japan would overtake the US by the year 2000.
There were several articles in Britain during late 18th century stating that Sun will never set in its empire.

Seems like voodoo economics to me if the numbers represent country GDP.
2030 is only 11 years away. In 2017, US GDP was U$19.3T, China GDP = U$12.2T and India GDP = U$2.6T.
They are projecting that India's GDP will grow at 22.8% a year compounding over the next 11 years and China's GDP will grow at 12.6% every year?

OK, I stand corrected. But that means there is an opportunity to arbitrage to make some money?I think you misunderstood the article. You are using the GDP in current $, where as the article is quoting GDP in PPP (Purchasing Power Parity).
China has already past US in GDP PPP couple of years back.
Not in the way of buying Big Mac there and selling Big Mac here. It is not arbitrage, but if you can identify the companies early which cater to the growing middle class consumers in those country, then yes.OK, I stand corrected. But that means there is an opportunity to arbitrage to make some money?![]()
