China announces it seeks 'calm' end to trade war, as markets tank and currency hits 11-year flatline

And now you see why I troll, there's no point in "honest" discussion when there's no agreement on the truth.

I have

Because it's not truth. It's opinion.

Politifact is a left leaning organization that has been shown to be so, and you're using it to support a left leaning argument.

If you want me to fucking troll you on every one of your posts and being an asshole like you are to me more often than not, I can certainly oblige. I'm about at that point anyway.

But I thought there were at least one or two of you I could have honest debate with.

there's no point, truth leans liberal according to you and you'll have none of it. You don't have to believe me, an anonymous internet person, you don't have to believe the fact checkers who'll back up every lie with sources, just keep on believing the fox "truths" you know in your heart of hearts to be right.

The question is whether China can ride out the next 14 months, or whether they actually believe a formidable challenger can be mounted against Trump in the coming election. Your TDS aside, China isn't doing so hot right now. I agree, if they were able to hunker down and hold out that they would. But I think they're a bit nervous about their ability to do so. Their economy is sick, way, WAY over-leveraged and they're beginning to experience social unrest (which is always what has frightened them the most).
From a strategy perspective I would think that China will recognize that a failure to reach an accommodation on trade, in conjunction with certain other measures, could be used as a means of eliminating Trump as an obstacle. Trump has, it seems, unwittingly given China the option to remove him from office. I would think whether or not China exercises their option will depend on their own assessment of the risks involved.

They will be patient. Perhaps Trump will continue to self destruct entirely on his own, making a return to normalcy in trade virtually a fait accompli.

Truth doesn't lean liberal, truth has no political bias. I'm always open to the truth. What have I done every time you make a statement I don't agree with? I ask you questions to support the statement. I debate you. What do you do? Troll me? Use snark? That's your game.

This is a perfect example. Instead of acknowledging that Politifact has been found in the past to slant the truth for its own purposes, you say it is me who will ignore the truth because I don't believe in one single source for my truth.

You are exactly what you pretend to rail against. And you're too stubborn to admit it.

Its too bad the democrats never learned this strategy. If they had, they'd have a lot more credibility at this point. Just let Trump take himself down. He does a fine job of it. There's no need to make shit up about him.

I totally agree that the Democrats best strategy is to more or less ignore him while they are campaigning. I think the less they mention his name the better they will do. They have the progressive press such as CNN and MSNBC to take on Trump. The dem candidates would do well to stick to discussion of their own platforms. Once the Democrat is nominated there will be plenty of time for the two candidates to go at it head to head. It will be a lot tougher for Trump this time around as his tactics are well known by now. If in the debates next Fall, Trump begins to stalk the democrat candidate --whoever that my be-- by creeping up behind them and hovering like a beast from the Adam's family --as he did last time around-- they will turn around and say, "Get out of my space, you creep!."
