Chicagoans: help please...

Just noticed there were some additional replies. Thanks.

I wanted to wait til august to find short term rents/sublets for fall( now is just for the summer on craigslist ).

What kind of scam are happening on craigslist? What do I have to check?

my best advice to you... if you have a friend in chicago, ask them to help you find an apartment.

it will be expensive to rent a furnished apartment for such a short time but renting an apartment will be cheaper than using a hotel. also, renting an apartment allows you to live in a neighborhood that will be more comfortable than living in a hotel. corporate housing companies are also great, but often more expensive than hotels.

chicago is a big city with much to explore, you will love it here!

Hello,

I have found a few 1000$-2000$ all furnished, all utilities apartments. They have their own pros and cons but if you had the choice what neighborhood would you prefer:

- Old Town/Michigan Avenue
- Lincoln Park
- StreeterVille/Gold coast
- Loop

Thanks a lot.:)

Quote from TraDaToR:

What about Fuller Park? It seems there are some cheap condos there...:D

you can rent pretty cheap in Englewood as well. There are tougher neighborhoods than Fuller Park.
