Chicago-area Tesla charging stations lined with dead cars in freezing cold: 'A bunch of dead robots

I feel like most of the public is loathe to be forced to move their quality of life backward to comply with a random gov't mandate that fails to serve the purpose so widely claimed in the media. There may come a day when EVs or alternatives to the ICE are viable, sensible and their construction and life cycle is indeed better for the planet - but we are nowhere close to that point today.

IMO it is all about $$$$..lining someones pockets for tooting the “green energy” horn and getting $$$ from gov and tax payers. IMO one day the general pop will awaken and realize it was all a hoax. IMO we have been hoodwinked! Well not everyone. I haven’t! Lol. I will still be driving fossil fuel vehicles unless they totally outlaw it and send police and military after fossil fuel devotees.

Remember one of the pioneers of the global warming movement.

There was a time oil and coal were subsidized yuugly. Not peep was said about it. Still is to certain extent, especially in the developing world.

Why hold non-polluting renewables to a different standard?

The government mandate to EV's in the timelines that are being proposed will be a disaster.

Global temperature record - Wikipedia
1920px-EPICA_temperature_plot.svg.png

Temperature estimates relative to 1950 from over 800,000 years of the EPICA ice cores in Antarctica. The present (1950) is on the right side of the graph.

Five_Myr_Climate_Change.png

Reconstruction of the past 5 million years of climate history, based on oxygen isotope fractionation in deep sea sediment cores (serving as a proxy for the total global mass of glacial ice sheets), fitted to a model of orbital forcing (Lisiecki and Raymo 2005)[2] and to the temperature scale derived from Vostok ice cores following Petit et al. (1999).[3]

Holocene_Temperature_Variations.png

Plot showing the variations, and relative stability, of climate during the last 12000 years.

Typical ad hominem

Dude, you started the whole climate change debate when we are just discussing frozen Tesla chargers.

And you dare to call yourself an engineer...

Anyhow, it was very cold all over the North and the Midwest, yet we only heard from Chicago. That is a win, I guess?

"Climate change" means pseudoscientific gibberish.

Real science makes testable predictions, that are backed by observed facts.

"Climate change" means "I know anthropogenic global warming is bullshit, but I want all the things we said you really really had to do because of it, so I simply going to move the goalposts and make the same demands over again."

Ever notice how the "climate change" crowd hates nuclear power? The one practical thing that could allows us to maintain our standard of living and avoid totalitarian 1 world government while avoiding the problem they claim to care about just seems to always be excluded from consideration.

Next time you corner a climate change believer ask them under what possible set of testable conditions they would actually consider their theory disproven.
Average land and ocean temperatures are steadily rising. Extreme weather conditions are steadily increasing. How would you read that? I don't know what you guys are looking at, but I'll go with NASA.
