That is an awful lot of hand waving. Let's run the experiment. One thing that I could try is, take Deep Rybka 4 and shut down it's opening book. Then have it play against another computer that is able to accurately simulate different human players. If I was sure that these simulations were never at say higher than 2750 ELO, it would be a good experiment.
This is unprecedented in the world of chess, or at least we have not seen anything like it since Capablanca.
The world's number one chess player is now a fashion model!! :eek: The only reason for the surprise isn't that chess players aren't good looking, it is simply that most of them are usually brooding over a chess board and immersed in their art to be bothered with such triviality. No more!!!! There are easily ten young grandmasters around the world that could pull it off.
The only thing left is a shot of a smoking hot woman in his arms romantically looking at each other in very close physical proximity to each other. Sex sells. Who though? She has to be stunning, out of this world talented, sexy, and classy. WHO?
If it can help make chess that much more interesting to young kids and get them to leave their Wii, everyone wins.

Chess at the professional level is played for big stakes too. Sadly, it took until Fischer so that chess had multi-million prize funds. Even today, it is not anywhere near poker prize funds.Quote from killthesunshine:
