Some people believe the reason that men dominate chess and women lag behind is for the same reason that autism and asperger seems to be a male disease/syndrome. There are also massive brain differences:
Magnus having the worst start in a tournament of his adult career. He is learning an important lesson, people love you when you win, but are not so patient when you lose. I don't like the way he is playing, but to me this is just variance and meaningless in the grand scheme of things of his career. However, he is probably beginning to doubt himself unnecessarily, as his best years are easily well into the future.
One thing though, his opponents are adapting to his style, so going forward he is going to need to use his genius for the game and create. He can't do that from excessively passive positions and wait for his opponents to fall asleep. Time to go back and look at Fischer games to get the creative juices flowing.
