These nonfinancial companies could also be borrowing as much as they can now while interest rates are so low .... hell, why not? If they don't do anything but leave the money sitting in their bank accounts, if/when/as interest rates rise over the next decade, they can have easy access to cheaply-obtained money that is also increasing in value.

That's what I thought when reading the article, anyway.
