Cheap Xmas Present That Will Be Really Cool.

I wanted to get something really cool for a friend's 12 month old for about $100, something that would stand out and last forever... so its like hmmmm. Clothes/toys... naaa... clothes are too easy and toys... all junk made in China, they get so much they don't play with any of them anyway. Even all the quote unquote educational toys... all junk.

Hmmmm. Think VZ. Something unique that will confound the onlookers.

Bingo. Got it. Unfortunately I think its too late to make it happen, if it can be done at all. I did a little research this morning and I guess I'll have to make some calls Monday to see if they exist in our modern age.

My gift....

I want to buy her 10 Shares of $SPCE and get the actual stock certificate, and then frame it. Perhaps by the time she goes to college it'll be worth a ton of money. If not, oh well. It will still look cool in a frame on the wall. But I believe in Branson. I think Virgin Galactic will be around in 20 years. https://elitetrader.com/et/threads/spce.338071/

Anyway... thats my cool Xmas 2019 $100 gift idea. I need to call their U.S. Transfer Agent Monday and see if they make certificates and if they have a direct purchase plan in place. If not... then I'll email the big man himself and have him change that. He will, Sir Richard likes stuff like that. Plus I always wanted to meet him anyway. We'll put some cool space-stuff artwork on it. Maybe RB will commission @Nobert to do it.

A $100 investment would have purchased 4.54 shares at the IPO price. After the stock splits, you would now be the lucky owner of 254 shares of Apple, which would currently have a value of $67,564.

I just looked at Virgin Galactics balance sheet. Now I can go tell everyone that I have more cash than a $2 billion space company.

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SPCE/balance-sheet?p=SPCE

They have a whooping $48k in the bank.

So this company (above) Giveashare... I was looking at how in the world they can charge $3500 for one framed share of AMZN and they have this disclaimer:

*** Note*** Because Amazon's high stock price and the fact that the SEC requires us to charge a minimum of twice the stock price, you may be able to purchase it more economically through a broker. We keep it on our website because we can provide the authentic stock certificate (brokers can't) and some people still want to use our unique service.

I wonder what that's about. Why would the SEC require them to charge twice the share price?

Anyway, I found the Transfer Agent for $SPCE.
https://www.continentalstock.com/faqs/
So that appears to be the place to buy these things.
Need to get to the bottom of this "twice the share price" thing though. That doesn't sound right.
More to follow later.

My guess, at market value, would bee equivalent to smuggling the $$$ out of US.

Inspection at Mexico border :

Officer gives a quick look at the back seat ;

Single piece shining through the box, full of papers -

Officer : ,,What are those, mister ?
Guy : ,,Ah..., Old high school diplomas... Officer ''
Officer : ,, I see... Used to play football myself...Okay, move on''

Yes, definitely a great idea, sure beats the old savings bonds any day.

Must be a good short then.

"$48K in the bank...."

.....and a $4.5 BILLION DOLLAR INCREASE in market-cap in the last two weeks.

See how that works?

(I don't either... but it does.) :D

If there was better upside, I'd be buying $10 put options right now.

Margins are very tight on space travel and unless we're in an era where we're building spaceships that hold thousands of people and can travel across the galaxy, or they're going to be mining asteroids soon, I think it's way way too early to invest in space travel. Investing in space companies now would be like investing in Technology stocks in the 1930s.

But then again...people are nuts and might take SPCE to a $100B valuation before they head for the exits and take it back to $1b.
