Cheap colocated server near NYC

anyone have any recommendations?

I'm not exactly sure on the terminology, but looking for a computer that I log into remotely that is right near NYC

Or are you looking for true colocation - your hardware type of setup?

IF the dedicated route, expect to spend around 200/month, which is far cheaper than colocating your servers, but of course there are trade-offs. Depending on what you want to run, going with a dedicated server by one of these services maybe the best way to start and if you need more, it is always upgradeable.
 
I'll charge you a portion of my electric bill if you want to just plant a desktop somewhere.

If you are looking for rack space that's a different ballgame.
