Charting with IB

I recently opened an account with IB and would like some advice on charting for index futures. Based on your experience is the charting within TWS sufficient or is a third party charting package better. Thanks for any input.

Yes it could be sufficient.

And, yes, using something like Sierra Chart or Ensign would be better.

The popular choice is a third party app. Medved Quotetracker is a popular choice there.

i trade with only ib charts and altough blindin' am use to 'em and prolly wouldnt understand setups as well with third party applets...they are not that bad if u find the right combination of colours imo.
