LOL Hombre, you won't find it in any book and I suspect my Holy Grail will appear slightly different than your Holy Grail. The Holy Grail has nothing to do with trading, it has to do with understanding how your mind works.
For me, it was the epiphany that trading isn't about thinking, it's about noticing. Unfortunately, probably no one will really get what I mean. If you wish to discuss this further, and it's not too far off the subject of the thread I'll try and respond.

Pierson, I agree whole heartedly. What you describe is in essence people getting stuck in their beliefs. No matter how hard you believe it, no matter how many believe it, won't make it happen. It is a component in getting what you want, but it's not nearly enough.
As near I can tell, there is only (conceptually) one thing that all successful people share in common: their unconscious processes. Why do I know this: easy, there are simply too many different ways to be successful. Sometimes even opposites work just fine for different people. According to my model of the world, all that leaves are the unconscious processes as a similar base for success (or for that matter failure).
I had spent many years trying to replicate excellence. Model what other people did that worked. This is a good way to do it. Potentially very powerful. Somehow, it never quite worked for me though. Think about all the really great traders that are more than willing to share their methods. How come very few of their students don't fair to well? I think I finally figured it out. If only there was a way to model without carrying along the baggage that is your own reality. This means literally becoming something different. Someone different.
You aren't who you think you are. You are who you really are, it's what you think you are that gets in the way. All your beliefs, references, and experiences make up a vast storehouse of internal representations of who you think you are. Problem is, that's not who you are. So, how to get from point A (who you think you are ) to point B (who you really are)?
I have found only one solution that works for anybody. It's called noticing. Being aware. You cannot force change. You can, however, observe what you do with no judgement. Just notice. I can't begin to tell you how powerful this is. Almost every single one of you who reads this will believe I'm crazy and never even give it a chance. Once you can become so aware that all your "baggage" is gone from your awareness process everything will become much easier. Especially trading.
I submit that it's not about trading. It's about becoming the kind of person that is a trader. There is a huge difference. I don't expect anyone else to agree with this. I will not argue my point. It's enough for me to have witnessed my own changes and those of many of my closest friends. People who have struggled a lifetime and now easily do anything they set out to. I have had opportunity to view a wide cross section of personality types who have what they now want (or are very much on their way). Assuming you're biologically functioning correctly, what I espouse will work. The downside is, you'll never know how long the path is. That's where a bit of faith does come in handy.
I will, however, happily continue to comment on any questions.

It's not because you begin by an unconscious process that you have to continue with it. In fact all my life I have always began to cope with reality by experimenting first before thinking about it because I need to get a "feel" the stuffs before I theorise on it but after that never I have contented with such unconscious process : all my works have then focused to make conscious what was unconscious and eliminate all the fuziness around unconscious process. This is called process REFACTORING in methodology and that is necessary to achieve CONSISTENCY. As a quality engineer CONSISTENCY is the key concept to allow further PROGRESS and so better PREDICTABLE AND RELIABLE PERFORMANCE and not ERRACTIC one.
