buh bye

Company executives just need to keep their mouths shut on anything but business.

Yeah yoiu see it happen time and time again thes people are morons, I dont talk politics on facebook or twitter because i value my contacts in this business too much and i dont want to lose the smart traders i have met over the years who have given me so much free advice.

If im smart enough to figure out i cant post politics and shit like that on my Twitter and Facebook accounts, I dont get how these moron CEO's think they are going to get away with it. Its not rocket science, if you are the CEO of a company pissing off half the country is not a good idea.

Precisely. I know a lot of liberal loons like Nine Ender have made the claim that many of us would not state our politics here on this forum if we had to post under real names, and that's true. But the reason we wouldn't is because the very same left loons would do all they can to ruin a person's livelihood - get them fired, protest in front of their house, death threats, etc...all tools of the left in squelching any opposing viewpoint.

That is definitely another valid point, definitely not wise to give out your real name if you are a rightie in this day and age with all the jackboot left wing thugs running around assaulting, and trying to destroy everyone who disagrees with them.

I think that it's more nuanced. If you are a public figure and you side with the "wrong" political party, well you're f'd, unless you already have some cabinet position lined up with that party. OTOH, we see "the left" say the most asinine things and land on their feet within days. (Like that SNL writer who started poking fun at Trump's son and was applauded by the sick group of like-minded jackal's).

Agreed. I knew it would be trouble about 5-7 years ago when many comment sections required a facebook account to share an opinion. F' that. The vindictiveness of some people who disagree with the "wrong opinion" is epic.

Yeah its funny, i hear about friends and family members blocking each other and shit like that over politics all the time, the internet has turned everyone into an asshole, or maybe we always were assholes, the internet just exposed it.

I have only ever eliminated a couple people from my twitter feed over politics but my twitter feed is only for stock market news, they werent anyone i know just people i was following for market tweets, and suddenly their twitter turned into an all out blast on Trump the day he was elected, i dont got room on my feed for people who waste my time, im only following 35 people on twitter, all stock market news, so i had to eliminate the pointless tweets, but id never block a friend or family member or someone i know over their opinion.

After 8 years of Obama, and now Trump, we are definitely headed in a dark direction in terms of politics, more polarized than its ever been.
