Cem Karsan - Gamma, Vanna & Charm

Listen to neww. Flow is a waste of time. Stupid large block trades can offer some value. The vol and CPS-desk output for clients on vol is worth reading, but it's doutbful there is actionable info there. If you have access to that info you probably don't need it or you're likely the source of the flow they are printing in the letter to clients.

Earning a draw at a firm or starting a buy-side firm doesn't make you a good trader. He's the George Santos of Fintwit. I am not going to repeat what I know, here.

lol, George Santos of Fintwit, that's pretty funny.

So subscriptions to products offered by Optionmetrics is just throwing money away?

LOL, while we're on the subject of "Stars of Fintwit", how about Benn Eifert?
Are they all budding Talebs?

Benn is legit. Made almost $100MM for clients long vol when COVID hit.

And he prolly did it with just 10 mil in exposure, thanks to the crazy ass options leverage.

And I have been on this site and peeking at this options section for a long time, but this is the first time I have seen the term "charm" as a greek. I am guessing it is a greek, because the OP couched it with Gamma and Vanna?

You options people are crazy. Charm. Dudes, that is particle physics and quarks and whatnot.

Why stop at 2nd order derivates. It's derivates of derivatives of derivatives of derivatives where you'll find the real Holy Grail. But watch out! Like the movie Inception, things get more and more unstable the deeper into the dream (derivative) world you get. Or something.

In her prime, Vanna was something, though. I'll take some Charm along with a vowel.

lol, you've extracted some value from someone who holds their cards close to their chest.

btw, how does one evaluate the "stars of fintwit?"

follower count seems to be more a metric of marketing prowess, for some the timelines offering great value have a very low follower count.

he does seem to have a sense of humor
