Cbot Down!!!

Quote from LT701:

fuck you

how do you hedge if you dont know if your stop would have triggered or not?

in a malfunction situation, there's no way of knowing

Yea, that'll get me to give you a simple strategy to accomplish this.

I can see why you have a very slow learning curve. LOL.

My suggestion is to:

1) drink another cup of coffee
2) throw something at your monitor and break it
3) start crying
4) call your Dad to borrow more money because things
happened that were beyond your control.

Did you try calling the exchange/your broker to find out?

Looks like e-CBOT goes preopen at 11 Central

Also stops do not sit on the exchange on the YM. They sit on your brokers server and in some cases on your computer. All you have to do is call your broker and see where your stop sits. Cancel the stop and then hedge.

I only trade YM and have a hedge plan for situations just like this. The exchange does go down at times and it can hurt.

I am pretty sure that stops are orders at the exchange.

Not on the YM

Unless something has changed. If it had would be good to know. I am going to check with my broker.

I believe you'll find that stop limit orders are sent to the ecbot, but simple stop orders are not.

It might have changed, so please, let us know if you find it to be different.
