Why does the video start from where he's tossing that girl around?
Why doesn't it start from where all of those girls REPEATEDLY ignore his orders to get away from the scene and move to the other side of the street?
Why does that girl fight back?
Why do all the other "kids" surround the officer as he's trying to control the girl?

This shit NEVER happened until the last decade or so. Kids and young adults have no respect for the uniform....and it's all because of the left wing media and lack of family values.
 
I didn't see the kid fighting back. I did see her mouthing off. You can argue that she should shut the fuck up (and she should) but this cop is really wired and his behavior is over the top. She's not a physical threat to him. Smashing her face into the concrete isn't warranted.

Anyone who is in law enforcement should be taught that there is a way to diffuse a crowd and a way to enrage it. It's almost like the defuse strategy no longer is worth studying.
 
Got to say I agree with clubber on this one, while the cops reaction may not have been desireable if all the lippy little kids would learn to STFU and listen to the cops when they tell you to get lost, there would be alot less of this going on, seems like kids these days wanna provoke cops, and then play the innocent victim when they get push back, guess what if you keep jabbing someone with a stick eventually they fight back, a lesson that seems to be lost on kids these days.

I was at lots of house parties like this in college where it got out over the internet and all of a sudden a mob of a couple hundred people show up at the party, managed to not get my ass kicked once by the cops because once they showed up, i just bit my tongue and left, meanwhile the bigshots at the party who thought it was their duty to provoke the cops inevitably left in the back of the squad car, after getting beaten up. Its not rocket science.

Yeah, I know... we're all "PC and all that". Nevertheless, "negative reinforcement" still carries weight... especially by the naive young.

I guess I'm at odds with my conservative brethren, then. I expect a police officer to behave as a professional, especially when faced with disrespectful behavior. The badge doesn't give them the right to yell and scream when they are being yelled and screamed at. They have the power, they don't need to wield it unless necessary.

I used to work at clubs as a doorman. Sometimes people would get in my face. I would politely ask them to step back a foot so we could talk. Sometimes I would do this repeatedly. If they got more aggressive and put a hand on me, I would move into action without hesitation. But up until that point I spoke in a quiet voice (which forced them to tone down to hear me) and had a calm expression. If a simple doorman can do that, why can't a fully trained police officer?

A number of folks are screaming for this cop to be fired - which I believe is an excessive response.

I believe this situation is a learning opportunity for both the police and the teenagers. The officer should be sent for additional training on how to handle these situations and act professionally.

This is also a good opportunity to have a conversation with the teens on how to behave when a law enforcement officer confronts them.
