? .... ?? ...... if you were to completely shave your head, would your skull look "asymmetrical" when looked at from the front, back and/or from above? :confused: :cool:
 
Personally I think the whole ADHD thing is grossly over diagnosed and blown completely out of proportion.

I exhibited some symptoms as a kid back in the late 60's. Oddly enough all it took was a few good beatings from the old man and my symptoms disappeared, never to return.

This post had no intention of correlating the Caudate nucleus with ADHD. However, it does appear that it could play a role.

As far as your father giving you a whooping and solving the problem, what he did is probably break your spirit, not help you resolve your mastery of your self.

As to whether ADHD is overdiagnosed or not, I agree that it is very complicated issue that needs further study. I have some experience with kids in a classroom, and I can tell you in no uncertain terms that discipline is by far the greatest threat to learning. Worse, you can have serveral kids that are normally stable, and all it takes is one or two kids to destabilize the entire classroom. However, I am not certain as to causation: Do school curriculums cause the discipline problems, or does some sort of internal biology cause the discipline problem?

Boys have a horrible time at school. Girls are easily able to concentrate, and absorb information far faster than boys. Not because they are smarter, but generally because they don't have issues sitting still and concentrating.

To state it once more, school is far too long, especially for boys. I have stated this before:
