catholic church: republican policies are immoral.

Quote from jem:

You mean you don't know? A most shocking revelation. However, I applaud your momentary humility.

You want to play bait the believer? because that is all you have left... after

I have crushed you on science and shown there is no science saying that life evolved from non life hear on earth.

I have crushed on the fact that revenues went up after federal tax cuts.

I have crushed you on the fact you have no data showing CO2 accumulation precedes warming.

I will leave ET right now if you supply proof that life evolved from non life here on earth.

I will leave ET if you show Federal Revenues did not go up after reagan tax cuts or Kennedy tax cuts.

Brass is now showing what a clown he is.

Quote from CoolTraderDude:

As the myth goes man was created in God's image... Man was not an identical copy of perfection... God was just a rough template for man. Man had free will... to do with as he saw fit... He ate the apple and became self-aware contrary to the will of God...

Ah yes, but this is the part that I never agreed with main stream Christians/Catholics on. We were supposedly created in God's image, and then they went and changed God into something that doesn't resemble us. Which one is it?

Quote from CaptainObvious:

LOL! Tough crowd! I think we should be looking in both directions. Our failure to build our space program is a mistake. I don't see why spiritual growth and scientific exploration can't co-exist. Both are worthy ventures regardless of the outcome of one or the other. If science were to prove beyond any doubt that there is no God, to look within ourselves is still a worthwhile effort. If God were to appear for all to see, leaving no doubt, science is still viable, and I very much doubt that a God would oppose it. Whatever takes us to a higher truth is a good thing. It is only when it's corrupted by those with other, namely political agendas, that it becomes tainted. Both science and religion have done a good job of twisting and turning in an effort to sway public opinion.

My sentiments exactly. I believe that some "creator" does exist, and will be in perfect harmony with science. IOW, true religion leads to scientific discovery, and true science leads to discovery of "God".

But then the opposite must also be true. False religion contradicts science and false science leads away from God.

So God is just another word for science and science another word for God.....nah. That really doesn't work.

Not necessarily. If "God' exists. It is my opinion that God developed the laws we refer to as science and uses these laws to accomplish his creation.

Thus, discovery of science leads to understanding of how God operates. Also, understanding of the true God would facilitate an comprehension of science as it applies to our universe. If in fact, god created the entire universe, which is debatable.

Or, the laws of physics are universal. God "became" god by attaining a perfect understanding of how to use these laws, and then went about creating.

This would support my opinion that the reason God doesn't save people from trials is that it simply isn't his purpose.

Like the kid who builds an ant farm. Creation is his goal. Preservation of individual ant life and individual ant happiness is not part of the objective.
