From someone highly educated in this field :Could you elaborate? Which part of trading requires IQ? How exactly does it help?
I'll give my take but i would like to know what you mean.

But that's the tricky part, since one might not know, (he or she), that personal number/score & even the behavior and language is some sort of predictor, it's by far not enough.I've never met someone who seems anywhere near
On the other hand, plenty of low IQ, high EQ
With my below average IQ, I am condemned be a retail for ever.IQ is necessary but not sufficient for success in many fields. I've never met someone who seems anywhere near the lower 50th percentile in IQ in i-banking, consulting, VC, or any other buy side job. Met plenty of jerks and unpleasant people, but they're all certainly above average in IQ.
On the other hand, plenty of low IQ, high EQ people see success in sales, politics, sometimes even leadership intense jobs like the military.
I don't think your IQ is below average, but nonetheless don't sweat it, i-banking jobs suck. Nothing like 80 hour weeks for a couple years to suck the life right out of you. With my below average IQ, I am condemned be a retail for ever.![]()
Well I'm gonna chalk that up as more anecdotal evidence against IQ tests, but I suppose it also makes my earlier statement somewhat meaningless since it's obviously beyond my ability to guess the results of an IQ test based on a series of conversations with someone. I guess I always equate intellectual curiosity with intelligence, but that's probably not something measured or measurable on an IQ test so all the more reason not to put much stock in them.I had my IQ tested when I entered college, years ago.![]()
And persistence, so don't feel bad for me.Well I'm gonna chalk that up as more anecdotal evidence against IQ tests, but I suppose it also makes my earlier statement somewhat meaningless since it's obviously beyond my ability to guess the results of an IQ test based on a series of conversations with someone. One test is not enough, since it could have been a poorly done. (by those who created that test, beside, by that age, students lack motivation to do those tests)And persistence, so don't feel bad for me.
Always enjoyed your posts. Showed a lot of wisdoms.

Absolutely & for the most people, that's the path. Very few, will be like that ,,naturally'', without hidden diagnosis of things like autism/Aspergen Syndrome. It might be a super power, but you can train yourself to stay calm.
If one has the confidence, thus by default he will be calm, when the time will come.Need to also have the confidence in yourself that you will be able to handle the task at hand. Then why wouldn't you be calm?
