The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission enforces Federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. These laws protect employees and job applicants against employment discrimination when it involves:

  • Unfair treatment because of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.
  • Harassment by managers, co-workers, or others in the workplace, because of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.
  • Denial of a reasonable workplace accommodation that the employee needs because of religious beliefs or disability.
  • Retaliation because the employee complained about job discrimination, or assisted with a job discrimination investigation or lawsuit.

Not all employers are covered by the laws we enforce, and not all employees are protected. This can vary depending on the type of employer, the number of employees it has, and the type of discrimination alleged.

Ah, so it's legal to discriminate against someone with kids. So there you go. Employers just wont hire people with kids so they save money.

$2k per month per person AND they want to make it retroactive to March which means if it passes and you are married with 3 kids and make less than $200k per year, that in June, you're likely to get a check for $40,000 and then $10k per month until everything is back to normal health wise.

I don't even know what to say to this.

Geeesh,

I had the chance to adopt several kids back in 2014...all U.S. citizens. I'm just throwing away money. :wtf:

I thought it would be too much of a cultural change.

We've been giving visionaries like Elon Musk 20 years, every 10 years, for the last 60 years. And we still don't have a flying car. The only way we'll get sustenance out of thin air is with a Mr. Fusion™ Home Energy Reactor.

Until then, where is the damned flying car?

I just bought my second one. But I can't tell you where.

There going to cover people rents and mortgages who can't pay. They'll drop $20 trillion before this is over. Dow 50K plus is possible with zero rates and 10's of trillions speculating .

Rental and mortgage assistance
The country’s 40-million-plus renters have received little additional federal support since the coronavirus shutdowns began. The HEROES Act changes that, providing around $100 billion for rental assistance. It would be distributed through an existing nationwide grant rental assistance program that would verify a tenant’s inability to pay rent and give vouchers to cover the cost of rent and utilities. It would also extend the ban on evictions for nonpayment for a year following its enactment date.

The bill also provides $75 billion for a homeowner assistance fund meant to prevent mortgage defaults and property foreclosures.
