Career for international trader in the US

Hi!
Long story short I've been in portfolio management and trading roles for around 10 years in Moscow firms. Have a strong confirmed local market track record and some US stocks long/short experience. Recently completed CFA , got a green card and decided to move to the US to continue as a trader/fund manger.
But I'm really confused how to start, obviously it's very hard to find a job at the industry without a decent American education and some local names on the resume.
Thus,I see two viable options:
1) apply for a MBA
2) start with a prop firm to build the US track record

Both has some disadvantages.

I would really appreciate any advice and ideas.

If you can get an allocation from a hedge fund or traditional prop firm, I would do that. MBA is not the right move. Chicago and NYC/CT are your best bets.

One question for you - if you have adequate experience with trading, why can you not go it alone - do you not have any money saved up?

Well, if you are really interested:

1) Fund managers in Russia are not paid as good as in the US, bonuses and %% are simply not paid sometimes. And life in Moscow had been VERY expensive prior 2015. So never managed to safe enough (IMHO it's 1KK+ minimum)

2) I’ve been trading my own account as well. It’s like +400% over 7-8 years. But I cashed out a lot. My trading style is more of swing/fundamental, so no steep intraday compounding and 1000% monthly returns. Don't feel comfortable with risks leading to 10%+ drawdowns

3)My style is scalable, why not take all out of it?

Plenty of unemployed MBAs out there working as low level analysts making $60k a year. Not worth it.
If you're confident in your skills as a trader, going at it through a prop firm would be a good option.

"the extreme right"...Does wanting the federal government to enforce border security make every American citizen extreme?
 
Illegal immigration is a slap in the face for all those that followed the rules and are here legally. With that said, the current process sucks.
