Can’t seat video card fully into motherboard because of bracket

So I just got my new system today and I’m having a difficult time installing my NVS 300 card into the 1x slot for some reason.

It came with a low profile bracket attached to it, I switched it out with a high profile bracket, but when I try to install it into the 1X slot the bracket won’t allow it to sink in, when the bracket is fully into the position to where it’s supposed to be the connectors at the bottom of the card are just on top of where they need to go into, what do I need to do to fix this?

So basically if the card is inserted the bracket won’t fully go in, it’ll be at a slight angle, and if I try to have the bracket fully in its place with the screw in the top to stabilize it then the connectors won’t go into the motherboard.

Your 1x card doesn't necessarily need to be mounted in a 1x slot... it will work properly in any PCIE slot. Try a different slot.

Sometimes it's a bit tricky to fully seat the bracket into the slot. I've always had to wiggle it around a bit when inserting card brackets.

Remove the bracket, and trim the bottom of it with a hack saw with a metal-cutting blade.

Reattach and voila'!

I kind of 'forced it in' there without putting excessive pressure on it and hoped for the best.

Everything is up and running atm (*knock on wood*)

Yup, video cards can be a little difficult to slot in and need to be gently forced in. Sounds like you got it.
