Can't delete post.

I posted a thread on a self-sufficient plant and, for some reason, it appeared 3 times. I then attempted to remove 2 of the 3 topics but I got this message:

Permission Denied

This is happening because:

You're trying to edit someone else's post or you're attempting to access a private area.
If you're new to this site, your account may be suspended temporarily while it's being reviewed for quality.
If you've never submitted a post before, your account may still need to be activated, so check your email to get the activation link.
If you've been acting like a troll or spammer, congratulations, you've been banned.

This happened even though I posted the topic less than 30 minutes ago, so I should be able to delete it.
 
You can't delete threads, which the first post is. Only mods and admins can delete a thread. If your post was number 2 or later in any thread, it wouldn't be much of an issue.
