Can't close some demo trades in IB account

I can't close some demo trades in IB's Webtrader, I get the following error: "ERROR REPORT: No Trading Permission, Account Requirements".
 
The portfolio margin demo is almost too buggy to function at all. My account was -50% within 30 seconds of putting the initial trades on...which triggered a series of margin calls....

I had the same problem with the forex demo. I could not close just one specific position, if I recall it was a GBP.EUR long position.

I gave up with the demo then and decided to allocate some real money for learning using TWS. This is the best way to do it.

I think IB is a great broker but...platform is outdated, charting is certainly out of fashion and support is terrible, to say the least. Big plus is commissions. Lowest Forex spreads available and rock bottom charges for equity and futures trading.
