Cant china buy US companies outright like Warren Buffet?

With yields going up why not buy stocks/assets instead of more treasuries? ie: buy GE and BA outright, Buy LLL and Harris.

Buy KO,DOW,MSFT,intel.

I would as a nation rather own those than just treasuries.
